Survey Says: Three-Quarters of EV Shoppers Prefer to Buy at a Dealership

InsideEVs has the scoop on a new survey from Escalent looking at the preferences of consumers around EV purchases. The headline stat? Seventy-four percent of respondents said they’d rather buy an EV from a dealership, as opposed to from an automaker or start-up directly. However, current EV owners, those who self-identified as shopping for an EV and younger buyers were more likely to prefer buying direct.

The survey talked to 1,289 Americans, with only 88 being current EV owners. The report also highlighted consumer expectations around the experience of test driving and buying an EV.
